1. Control the infeed of product. Bucket elevators should be uniformly fed to 2/3rd full. Ensure your product is fed evenly across the bucket and not peaking on one side. Also, keep the metering device as close to the infeed as possible to help prevent spillage.
2. The bucket assembly tension should be slack, not tight. There should be a slight visual sag (consult the TipTrak manual for additional tensioning information).
3. Keep it clean. Incorporate frequent checks into your maintenance routine to ensure there isn’t any product buildup. Know your product, and how it will act within the TipTrak.
In addition to following these simple tips, you can extend the service life of your TipTrak by implementing regular inspection and maintenance procedures. To help you get started, we’ve created a check list of bucket elevator parts that should be inspected and maintained regularly.
